Where it started
We're a couple from the Philippines, where cash is king and tracking shared expenses usually means a pocket notebook or mental math. Every month ended the same way: receipts in three places, a rough guess at what was left, and one more awkward round of "wait — who paid for what?"
We tried the usual fixes. Spreadsheets were clunky and always one forgotten entry out of date. Budget apps were built for one person, with a partner bolted on as an afterthought. Splitting everything 50/50 without tracking just moved the argument to the end of the month.
So we built the thing we kept wishing existed
One budget that lives on both phones. Add an expense on yours and it's on your partner's moments later — bills split automatically, goals saved toward together, every month tied off properly. No exports, no "let me check the sheet", no surprises.
That's still the whole idea. Lista is for two people running a household together — couples first, but roommates and families fit too.
What we believe
Money is the thing couples argue about most, and mostly it's not about the money — it's about not seeing the same picture. We believe seeing the same number, at the same moment, takes the edge off. Lista's job is to do the bookkeeping quietly so the two of you can just talk.
